In 1997, skyrocketing voice recognition stock prices got me interested audio analysis. I wrote a quick and dirty spectrum viewer using RLC circuit emulation. I didn't revisit the idea until 2020 when I became interested in the area as a retirement project. I dug up that old 1997 code and started with that. Performance problems with RLC emulation near the Nyquist frequency led me to the use of IIR filters. I became interested in extracting notes from audio when a trumpet hobby led me to look for sheet music for old theme songs from my childhood.
