Dear ctag-ers: I'm only about an hour into looking at the Exuberant Ctags site, reading about how to extend ctags, and building the source, so you could say I'm a little new at this. I am doing all this to be able to create ctags for a new language. This raises a couple questions right off the bat: 1. Is there a particular reason that yacc-based parsers aren't used for the various languages? Wouldn't that be a straight-forward way to get the desired tokens? 2. Can the regexp implementation methodology be used when the language supports continuation lines? Are there any existing examples of this that I can use as a model? Thanks so much for the help. I'm very confident there will be many more questions down the road. Blessings, Doug |
