how to output to xls (excel 97)

Hi –

I cant see anything in the documentation about outputting to excel 97 xls?

Do I have to go .ods output then use unoconv utility to convert to .xls?

Gavin,

The .xls format is not supported, but .xlsx is. Xls is a binary format while .xlsx is an xml based format like .ods.

Using unoconv is an option if you require .xls.
