Then we can use escape in some circumstances, provided that the system does not use it for system-wide shortcuts. As for function keys, they are not accessible on laptops, i.e. to emulate then, you need a combination of alt, control, etc.... Well, were are the poor parents here. It seems that Apple thinks the world is limited to US. What works, is the key bindings as in emacs. For example, I use Esc, Esc to access alt as a command, and Esc, Esc, Esc to emulate Meta (there is no Meta key on the Mac). > But you've got the menu trigger Alt + u + a ( english ) or Alt + o + t > (french). No alt + key is accessible except for special character Alt-u-a gives me plain ua and Alt-u-o gives the degree sign followed by the oe sign (the one where o and e are kerned together). > > To change the control accellerator keys fot Meta ( I suposse Alt ) will > break in some translations the menu ones. Yes, you're right I've just read that in the reference. Anyway control accelerator keys have never worked on Mac, so don't bother with it. I think it's a Windows feature. So you have to distinguish this feature: an underligned letter which is always triggered by alt combination and a key combination in the menu after the label. See in bluefish, there are both and not the same. You can use any shift-control-command and meta (for those of us, Mac users, who have a 3 button mouse, by default it is a one button mouse). But most Mac users who practice the command line have this kind of mouse, and then also ctrl Functions key, not Functions keys alone, as the most are reserved by the system, and then it will work only for users who don't have a laptop. As the range of accelerator keys in cssed is limited, I think you can do it just with shift control or shift command. And no need to change the po files, let the Windows accelerator keys in place. This way you don't change your habitq, but the Mac users with non English keyboard (they exist yes: -) will benefit accelerator keys. >> 3 - Ctrl-Z works for undo, but it is not shown in the menu > Yes, it's an scintilla internall. > >> 4 - It would be great to have Shift-Ctrl-Z for redo too. > Maybe there's other scintilla internall, if not will put something to > work to get an "Redo" accell key. Yes, but I cannot find it for sure. Here it is: |
