Csound-5.1.00.0_20060822-win32_i686.exe is a minor "snapshot" release before 5.1.00.0 beta2. The main change in this version is renaming a number of environment variables, to allow for installation on a system where "canonical" Csound is also used. Other than that, there are only a few bug fixes and other small changes.

This is the first beta release for this project. Many internal changes are needed until the final release, and a number of features are currenly not available. However, the command line frontend and csound5gui, as well as all plugin libraries and utilities are functional and reasonably stable in this beta version.
