Introduction
The audio driver is now based on a method that is a little bit more official (using java api). So it should now work on almost all devices.
However there is some restrictions :
Known incompatibility
- Some armv4 based devices - If you own an armv4t device and want to help us to support it, please send us the "device" name : install an application such as DeviceInfo to get this information (that's a string that allow to determine which device it's exactly).
There is also some audio routing issues
It can produce echo if routed to rear speaker or no sound at all.
- Galaxy S (not able to change volume see issue 254 )
- Sony X10 / X10 mini (micro record both mic+line : everything spread through speaker is recorded directly by the micro...)
- Samsung i5500 (route to rear speaker : issue 258 )
Most of the time for this issue, manufacturer is to blame (and maybe also android that doesn't define clearly to manufacturer what should be done). So be indulgent with android sip applications : solving this kind of issues, is finding a workaround to make things working with a crappy implementation. It can take a lot of time, and having a device to test on is quietly indispensable to be able to really solve this kind of problem... So can take time to solve it.

Litlle problems with Samsung Galaxy Spica (android 2.1) I just can listen the conversation with the loudspeaker. All other things works well, do you have an issue?

Tested on Motorola DEXT (1.5) Works perfectly for several calls (received and dialed also). Then a call fails (lost audio), app crashes and you have to restart(power off - power on) the whole phone to get it working again. Disabling Codecs other than alaw/ulaw apparently solves the issue.
With our Sip PBX (3CX) works better, that SipDroid?? and SipAgent??.
User interface, and integration in the phone, in my opinion, is also MUCH better.

This works very well on my MOTOROLA DROID Rooted (CyanogenMod?-5.0.6.2-Dr0id). I'm able to use GSM on 3G and Ulaw on Wifi. The results are excellent. Even though this is alpha the usability (with Dialer One app) and quality is better than sipdroid.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S (android 2.1-up1) and tested conversation, but callee's could not hear my voice. I think Galaxy S's mic does not receive the signal. You can also try latest 0.00-12-3 build (available on the download section) to test latest improvements that should not entirely solve the issue but works sometimes.
