What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Pair and connect headset
2.Initiate a call with cSipSimple ( cSip Simple )
3.Press bluetooth button

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

My bluetooth headset should take over the audio for the call.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Latest version as of this issue submission.

Please provide any additional information below.

Not sure if this is an enhancement request or what, but bluetooth should work seamlessly.

I use it on my new LG=P880 with 4.0.3 Android. Up to version 1742 everything works fine, so only new editions have this problem.

What happens if you try (with version 1743 or upper):
Go in settings, press menu key and enable expert mode
Then go in media section, and in audio troubleshooting subsection (latest one).
Then in the Audio implementation option choose the "Java" one instead of the "OpenSL-ES" one.
    ?

I'll review changes between [r1742] and [r1743] (it was a change inside opensl-es implementation). Many thanks for this feedback.

I just tried this with [r1757].  I'm not sure how to generate logs but if that will help let me know.

I wonder if Video option is  still on your list. I guess it is. If you need a platform for tests, I would be happy to provide accounts in our EuroTELEFON network. We support H263 (1996), H263+ (1998), H264 and MPEG4. I know there is another issue track for Video, but just by the way...:)

And the headset's call control button doesn't work - it doesn't answer the call neither end it. Tapping it during the call seems to end it (no voice enymore for both of the parties), but the call session is continuing unless ended from the phone.

no headset action in CSS at all usually.

something possibly interesting... after using the headset with GrooveIP (seems to work flawlessly), THEN it works in CSS for me. default advanced "audio troubleshooting" options. never made any progress by toggling the various options, so I toggled them back.

    fresh test now:
    1) 'clean' boot tablet, pair BT
    2) call voicemail to test = ... ok well it worked this time...

but my point is that before the boot, nothing was working, then after testing BT in GrooveIP, started working right away.

Might be able to post logs next time. any options/procedures should I use if/when I reproduce. Is aLogcat okay?

Unfortunately *since* then, i had a boot-loop/data dir permissions problem possibly related to SuperSU. So I sideloaded Titanium Backup, installed ClockWorkMod, made my backups and did a 'factory data reset', but not before killing CSipSimple in my hunt to find an accomplice in the boot-loop incident (a hunt that ended with SuperSU). Learned how to use Kernel Debugger tho.

Haven't had a chance to test CSS yet, and wasn't able to backup my CSS settings, so who knows....?

I Have a comf_comp V09p (otherwise known as a comfort compact) BT HF kit installed in my car. I can't seem to get the CsipSimple to route the audio through the BT. I tried using automatically connecting to BT and also manually pressing the BT after placing a call. A while ago I think I tried some more options and non solved this issue. Can anyone help?  I would really love to have this BT option working.

    Thanks,

    Amir

While it would be nice to use my headset for calls with CSIP, it isn't essential.  But it would be great if I could at least get it to not interfere with the existing playing audio.  I have tried both checking and unchecking auto connect bluetooth, and have the same behavior both ways.  I have not seen any other obvious setting to change.  I am using a Galaxy Note 2 with 4.1.1.

Appreciate any help that can be given.  CSIP Simple is really an excellent client in all other ways.

Im running the current latest nightly build (0.04-05 [r2201]), after previously trying the market version, on a Samsung Galaxy S3 running OS 4.2.2.

I have csimple working fine through the phone, but not through bluetooth. While standard calls through the phone app work as expected with my bluetooth headset, and while csipsimple will switch correctly either manually or automatically to the bluetooth headset, there is no audio in the bluetooth earpiece. Looking at the in call monitoring pop-up while connected to bluetooth, I can see received audio (but not hear it) but the bluetooth mic seems to be registering no audio.

Switching back to the phone or phone speaker confirms the audio is there, as does the in-call monitoring (so both speaker and mic bars show audio is detected, as opposed to on bluetooth when only received audio is detected, but not heard.)

I have been through the troubleshooting, inclusive of reset to defaults, and followed the suggested steps with no apparent change to the symptoms, excepting for the audio mode setting. When this is set to "in-call" I can hear about a second of clear received audio in the bluetooth headset when I manually connect to it during a call, and then the headset goes quiet. Its quite possible the bluetooth mic also works for at this time, its too brief to test effectively though. The headset isnt disconnecting, and remains in this state until I manually switch back to the phone, when normal two way audio is resumed.

The other suggestions in the troubleshooting appear to make no difference, including routing API, WebRTC, and also trying samsung galaxy hack, tone hack and focus audio and others makes no difference. Only the in-call setting takes me from no bluetooth audio to one second of audio.

Dialling my Asterisk server's echo test number I can hear the instructions clearly, but when I try to speak into it, the sound coming back sounds like a Dalek trying to speak Klingon, only less intelligible.

    Any ideas?

    Regis,

I am using CSipSimple for a long time and quite impressed with it. I am all good with this app except that BT feature does not function correctly on my device. I would love to see the BT feature coming through for this app.

I am currently using Samsung Galaxy S4 (jfltetmo) currently running on CM 11-m9 (android v4.4.4). I use the LG HBS730 bluetooth headset with this phone. This headset bluetooth profile is: V3.0+EDR bluetooth protocol support HSP, HFP, A2DP and AVRCP/Handfree, aptX® Compatible.

After pairing the headset, whenever I try to place call using CSipSimpple, the app crashes saying "Unfortunately, the CSipSimple has stopped".

I grabbed the log messages and would want to attach them here but there is a note below this textarea saying "Issue attachment storage quota exceeded". Is there any alternative to post the logs?

Also, I sent the logs to developers [at] csipsimple dot com.

Couple of questions after going through some of the discussions on this page:
    1. Does it mean that CSipSimple works only with BT headsets having BT SCO?
    2. Is BT SCO is an underlying profile supported by all headsets in general?
    3. Is there something different to be done for CSipSimple app in order to work with BT headsets supporting A2DP and AVRCP protocols?
    4. Is there a workaround to make this app work with BT headsets having A2DP/AVRCP protocols?

    Thanks,
    Uresh

Dunno if that helps, but if it wasnt the rom that caused the issues then it was a strange coincidence.

    Hi,

I appreciate your lead regarding the Mono bluetooth router.

Did this help in getting CSipSimple to work in routing the audio through the BT headset eventhough the BT headset is not just mono but compatible with A2DP/AVRCP protocols? Or is your headset just a mono bluetooth headset?

Your reply would help in this matter.
