I don't recall having seen such behaviour before, although I've 
regularly been building cscope on XP for years.  A quick test of the 
15.7 tarball on XP also doesn't show any irregularities.

This might indicate either a bug in the version of flex you're using, or 
signal a general instability of the machine you're on.

I installed cygwin on Windows XP and also downloaded
cscope-15.7.tar.bz2.  I extracted the file into a directory and executed
the following steps from that directory: -

1)./configure

2) make

The following output was seen: -

Some clarification on this (all of these are on sourceforge):

This is very much similar to bug: Build error - ID: 2355529
as well as: Build error under cygwin - ID: 1621082

so it's already been posted.

and it looks like there was a proposed patch to force it to work under
GNU/Hurd on this patch:
Patch to make it work on GNU/Hurd - ID: 1467182

I guess my next task is to try to make that patch work with minix.

I hope to be able to contribute a workable patch to allow CScope to
compile under minix3.

As far as i can tell, minix does not have the 'siginfo.h' header file
in which siginfo_t is defined, so I think this means the porting is on
hold.

Hello again,

My apologies, I've found a port of ncurses for Minix.  It countains
all of the KEY_ value defenitions that I was missing. This fixes a
great deal of the issues I've been having trying to get Cscope to
compile.

Unfortunately, there are still issues.  It now clears all of the
preprocessing, and as it starts to compile i get errors expecting a
declaration specifier before one of the parameters to the definition
of sigwinch_handler.  I've been looking at the source for days trying
to make sense of it, and I figure this is the best place to ask.  As
far as I can tell 'siginfo_t' is an instance of the 'siginfo' struct,
and is declared when 'siginfo' is declared.

I am using GCC 4.1.1 (its the latest GCC available on minix, but that
is a separate problem).

Hello!

My name is Alex Ray and I'm currently working to port CScope to Minix
3 (using gcc). I have a couple of questions I thought might be
clarified.

First is related to the <curses.h> standard library.  In Minix,
curses.h doesn't contain the KEY_LEFT, KEY_RIGHT, etc definitions.  In
Cscope the preprocessor directives check for KEY_BREAK, KEY_ENTER, and
KEY_BACKSPACE, but right now I'm getting an error because in line 142
of /cscope-15.7/src/input.c it references KEY_LEFT (which has passed
undefined through all the preprocessing).

Should I just manually define KEY_LEFT alongside KEY_BREAK, _ENTER and
_BACKSPACE in the preprocessor directives?

Hi,
I am using Cygwin on Windows XP and everything works fine but CScope. I
tried compiling the cscope code on cygwin and install.

after I do that, I tried to "cscope -R *" at the top level in a source tree
and I see that cscope is getting the directory name correctly (recursively)
and after getting the directory names, its trying to open files with those
names and cannot open files and failing ... essentially not able to generate
any contents into the cscope.out.

I searched around and found someone has statically compiled a cscope binary
and that was not working too.

Any pointers are appreciated.

but in cscope, when I use command 'cs find'. I have to wait for the result util the search is done. it is the only(?) drawback of cscope that I have.

so, I suggest a feature to enhance the time of waiting search result. If the number of search result is to be larger than specific number, makes cscope to show the results already found to user, and continue the search task in background job. and a key pressed, then cscope shows the next amounts of search results.

I will wait for new version of cscope included that feature. :-)

You're asking for a good deal more than you realize.  the find function of
cscope under the cover isn't just a child process doing a grep, its cscope 
itself.  Its a single threaded process which is only capable of doing one
thing at one time.  Its certainly possible to start posting the results of
a find operation prior to its completion, but as its written currently, its
not possible for cscope to respond to navigation commands while its in
progress (i.e. you can slect a displayed item to view, or page the results,
or type in another search).  To do that we would have to make the
application multi-threaded, or multiprocess, and institute enough locking
throughout the code base to make it safe.  While thats certainly possible,
I don't see that its overly helpful.  Full text regex searches of the linux
kernel take less than a minute on my system, that doesn't seem too bad to
me

Трудовая книжка         работника. Правила ведения и хранения трудовых книжек.         Инструкция по заполнению трудовых книжек. Изменения в порядке выдачи         новой трудовой книжки при поступлении работника на работу. Порядок         заполнения сведений о работнике. Выдача дубликатов. I've noticed that the included manual page does not document the format of the database. The version of the manual page at Bell Labs does document it, though:

Could this be added (it's useful when accessing the db from scripts).

The database is supposed to be accessed by scripts *only* via cscope
line-mode (-l or -L).  As-is, the format it private to the program, and
that's a good thing.
