Currently, traps that are deadly to newbies are too
common in newbie areas, particularly with doors in the
houses in the southwest of Scorn.

Traps that are fairly deadly show up in too easy
places, this is either because the difficulty is set to
high on some maps and/or because the level that the
traps show up at is set too low in the treasurelist.
Possible things to deal with that are:
-Adjust auto-calculation of map difficulty
-Specify increased minimum levels for many types of traps.

Also, poison of any strength is too deadly to newbies,
which makes this worse.

Also, traps are too easy to ignore at levels > 50, it
might be a good idea to make them become more powerful
with increased difficulty levels more.
