Full buildability, including gates levers etc. is one
of things not used in most mmorpgs, but very
appreciated by many gamers. Therefore, i thought of
some ways to expand it. ( Notice, if you dont like my
idea of fe. private buildable shops, just reply with
your own)
1) Very expensive objects: unconsecrated praying
altars, money->money & money->goods converters, spell
casting altars, spellwalls, artillery.
2) Setting up shops.
Selling field with price/quantity properties, makes
each dropped item unpickable, unless somebody drops cash.
Analogical buying field, would have properties of items
name price and maximal quantity.
3) Teleporters
Requiring apply, teleporting only players, only items,
or only specific items. Might be turned on and off by
theyr slaying group.
4) Logical machines
Harder stuff: They would be taking input from 2
separate slayings, and work as AND OR XOR NOT etc.
Their output would be sent to 3rd slaying and would be
treated as buttons and pedestals output.
Why? Cause i hate those "crazy machines" at the bottom
of mosts maps. They wouldnt be buildable, to make
player use a lot of space to make a computer.
5) CheckInv fields and doors
I just dont understand why they arent avalaible at
shops yet :-)
It could be the way, that they use slaying from mraking
rune, and player can buy altar of "making key" that
will be producing keys with chosen slaying.
6) Pocket dimensions
Concretilly, stairs down and up. My idea is they would
be creating map from template, 20x20 made out of walls
with no graphic, and they all would be unbuildable,
until you pay cash, the more, the higher floor you are
building in. This because one might want to have a bit
more stairs in house, and it wouldnt be nice to make
him pay twice for single additional floor. Also, i
would like to have ability to add siding maps (correct
me if its wrong used word) for additional paymetn, to
make map wider. This way i would be able to make guild
house 40x40.
7) Ownership cards
Each buildable field or map overall, could have
ownership value. so one cannot build if he dont posses
the right ownership card. Ownership cards slaying could
be used as prefix to each slaying determined by marking
rune. Why? More in appendix.
Appendix
I would also like first plot bought, unexpanded, was
(20-22)x(20-22), having always 20x20 buildable grass
area and road from those sides where it should be. I
mean changing default Big Storagesas well, cause i
might like to have it built out of stone wall, and it
doesnt look nice compared to wooden main wall.
Expanding map horizontally, imho, would be best if each
buyable plot was connected like in worldmap with
adjacent plots. One would be able to mark ownership
from the other plot, to make levers from one plot
connected with doors in the other etc. I dont know
ifits possible currently, but it SHOULD be possible in
future, and i might work on it.
If anybody sees some possible to occur bugs in my
ideas, i want tostate that i know of some, and they can
be fixed if my idea is found good by crossfire devs.
Also i might work on _some_ of those ideas. But rather
those easier, like points 1 3 & 6.

do before knowing if/which my ideas are appreciated.

i think instead of the logic machines, use a item that would
allow a player to create a script for it (i think second
life does something like this for almost everything)
there are security issues raised by this though (im thinking
using an interpriter just for player's scripts would solve
most of it)

This rfe has been around for some time, no clue why i didn't
notice it before. Anyways, if my input is still useful:
Buildable pocket dimmensions could easily be implimented
with "template maps". All that is needed is new archs, and
a script to set the slaying field of the actual chest-exit.
As for stairs, some logic was planed to check if what was
being built, would be supported by the floor below it.
Also, Rednaxela was going to work on buildable lots +
ownership, but i don't know what the status of that is.
This is what "template maps" where originaly implimented for.
