The weather code was recently taken out because it couldn't be understood.
Could the capabilities be refactored and put in a weather.c module. What the weather code did was make various wind and temprature maps and then create overlays based on these.
Also could these overlays be placed in /var/crossfire/weather_overlays rather then being placed in the normal overlay file.
Weather was a nice advanced feature for CF. It would be nice to have again in a clean, rewritten, and thus not so buggy state.
Perhaps cavesomething could take this on. He once wished to also make a similar animal populating plugin.

Good idea (however I lack the knowledge of how weather works to do this).
No idea how this allworks, but i am running the weather code at home.
At least some #ifdef EnableWeather could have been implemented for period before taking it completely out.
The compression code was buggy in 1.11.0 to compress also LOCALDIR/maps files witha few fixes until 1.60.0 but rename failed on compressed files , because TEMP EXT was not added to the tmp savefile.
At least I see Buildings stacked in the look window server-1.11.0 . 1.10.0 works.
This Inputinterface is horrible by the way here on SF ..
