After going to my apartment from an adventure with unidentified items, I applied a scroll of identify. I saw some items get identified for a split second, and then the client crashed.
This doesn't happen every time. I'm also quite sure that it is more likely to happen after the client has been running for enough time, but that's not certain.
Update: A very similar crash occurred, and not while identifying items. I may attach a screenshot when requested.
I'd also like pointers on how to make my bug reports more useful.
It would be useful to know your operating system, as well as which client and what version you're running. If possible, a list of steps to reproduce the crash would be helpful. Generating a backtrace from your crash dump is also extremely helpful.
I have seen similar behavior, but identing items isn't the only way to trigger it. I suspect it's when the client tries to display lots of messages all at once. I don't think I've seen it since I started using GTKv2 client r19746-win32, but then again, my memory isn't the greatest.
Can someone confirm if this bug is still happening?
I remember there was an issue related to identifying some specific items, but I have some memory that it was fixed (or that we tried to).
Thanks for the feedback.
cracks knuckles Let me spool up a client today and see if I can reproduce
it.

#801I can't reproduce this issue, so I'd say its probably fixed. I'll keep my
eyes peeled in case it resurfaces though.

#801Thanks, re-open if it happens again. Hopefully we can catch it if it does.
