I just saw something else.
While you are on foot,the "v" remains the same and doesn't change when you go up and down the hills (it keeps the last value that had got with your last vehicle)

i didnt reproduce it but it may be a joystick test problem.

i have set v display to 0.0 when on foot
Now it does the same thing with the camera.After 45 seconds being on foot,the camera will show the grass.
do you use a joystick ?
if yes, you should center it, and it may work now (i have added some code lines)
It did it with both keyboard and joystick.
Now it works fine!
