Read Aloud skips one-word paragraphs

Using CoolReader 3.1.2-33 on Android; bug appears with either Ivona or Google TTS engines.
An EPUB I’m reading has lines something like this:
She heard a voice.
“Cassie?”
She turned around.
The paragraph with one word in it is completely skipped and not sent to the TTS engine at all.
Minimal example attached.

Correction: Single-word sentences followed by a close-quote, are what trigger this bug.
Any update on this? It's really frustrating to be listening to a story and miss parts of a conversation because vital words like "Yes.", "No.", etc are not spoken. I listen to "audio books" all the time when driving, so it's not always feasible to figure out what I missed right away! Is this a bug in the TTS code (I've tried multiple from Google and from Samsung and hear the problem) or with CR?
I have not tested my minimal example with FBReader with the TTS plug-in, but I just tried it with Mantano Reader Premium and the entire thing was read aloud. It’s a CoolReader bug.
