#126 Users "sort function"

After several fresh installs of loaded 615 and searching the forums I give
up and kindly ask for help.
The ability for users/visitors to click on "Product Name" and "Price" to sort
the results under a category simply don't exists.
Attached is images with and without the function that's missing.

BUT I can force it to work by typing "&sort=2a" after "index.php?
cPath=3_10". Then the nice little +&- signs shows up just to dissapear
when clicking on another category.

Server setups tested:
Mac OS X 10.3/1.0Ghz G4
Apache 1.3.33
PHP 4.3.10
MySQL 4.0.23-max

Mac OS X 10.4/1.5Ghz G4
Apache/1.3.33 (Darwin)
PHP/4.3.11
MySQL 4.0.24-standard

Mac and Win with Explorer, Safari & Firefox
