I have no qualms to players being stranded or entombed because of their own stupidity. Unfortunately, there is so much more chances for a freak teleportation to do this than the bad decisions the player can make. It's a bit of a pity. It would be great if you could define some areas to not allow an uncontrolled teleport into them. Especially if this could be automated. You can check if the floor square has an access to a stair, would that be rather too costly to do each teleport..? Controlled teleport would of course be ok - that would be the aforementioned player stupidity.
