Initial Comment:
When printing (to file on Linux) and there is no
environment variable `TMP' or `TEMP' defined, there
will be nothing printed because the lib tries to write
temporary files to / (wich is usually not writeable
unless you run as root). Occasionally this may be a
problem on other platforms too (but in practice not).
