Yes, it is safe, cppcms does not use anything in boost 
namespace and any binder would work fine std::bind, boost::bind 
or anything else.

I don't think it would actually be implemented with C++11 lambdas
the boost::bind is quite absolete.

It requires forking Boost and maintaining it and supporting it.
Also it requires many changes. For example booster::shared_ptr
supports both atomic operations (if not avalible) and mutexes using
the same ABI, all the code is havily "pimpl"-ed and having "d" pointers
for extensions, using as few inline code as possible.

CppCMS currently targets C++03 compatible compilers, more than that
C++11 and C++03 compiled modes are ABI/API compatible, so I can't
switch using a macro between std::shared_ptr and booster::shared_ptr.

Some future version (that is not planned yet) would explore fully C++11
including stuff like rvalue references and many things in standard library
but at this point were many users still use older compilers I can't do it.
