    pros/cons?

major pro imho; people don't need a trac account

cons: I fear that it is harder to organize. We have thousands of open issues. I think good reports are very much needed. In Trac we have predefined reports that can be accessed through links while github only has a search. In Trac it's possible to define what columns to show while I don't think that is possible in github.
I want that each issue has to be classified either as enhancement, defect or task. those should be in one mandatory list where only 1 choice is allowed. Then I would like to have another mandatory list for our "Component" information; Improve check, False positive, Crash etc..

pros starting from interface , star like voting, new release notification option (auto email notification), and yes you can tag issue and sort it by tags not just search ie. "bug" "enhancement", just browse some popular projects there to get the idea, Sponsor option is also present

I believe that Trac has served us well.. but it is certainly possible to change if we ever think so.

and yes you can tag issue and sort it by tags not just search

Yes, you can set abritrary tags but that is not what I asked for.
