[Covtool-users] problem with make

hi all,
i just downloaded this tool for my hp-ux machine but when i run the make 
command from my my /covtool_1.12/covtool directory i get an error saying
"Make: Must be a separator on rules line 20.  Stop."

i have modified the line 1 of the makefile from
include rules.$(shell name)
to
include rules.HP-UX
is this correct if there is anything else to be done to have this make pass 
so that i can use it further.
any help would be appreciated.
