#58 ZlibHex unknown subencoding 20 encountered

Connecting from Chicken of the VNC version 1.3.6 from a
Powerbook running OS X 10.3.4 to a PC running WinVNC 3.3.7 on
Windows XP.

I briefly get a black window with the name of the PC in the title bar
when connecting, then the window disappears and I get the
message in the summary.
