[Contiki-developers] maximum clock resolution

hi all.
i am using sky + contiki-2.5.rc1.
i want to increase the clock resolution (as high as possible).
i have changed it from the default value 1/128 second to 1/1024 second,
and it seems to work.
but when the CLOCK_CONF_SECOND is configured to be higher than 1024,
the system slows down dramatically, e.g one CLOCK_SECOND of the system will
count to a few more seconds in the real world.
can somebody tell me why?
and what is the maximum clock resolution supported by TmoteSky?
