Best way to archive/change conventions?

After using ConMaster at one convention, we wanted to start another one. I archived the old data by copying everything (the entire PhPdev folder) and renaming the original, then going into the new copy and deleting all the event files and the old con. Didn't work. The tickets printed out with the old con's name. It also retained the information from the previous con's attendees. (I didn't go in and delete that. Perhaps I should have.)

Since you use it regularly, what method do you use to archive the old information from previous cons? What files do you save, in case you have to re-enter it and access the data? And when you start a new con, do you simply delete the old "cm" folder and create a new one from the program archives? Or do you have some other method? Thanks.

You need to export the database using phpMyAdmin (use the export tab).  Then you need to empty the tables you don't want to reuse.

All of the convention data is stored in the DB.
