Equalizer APO issues solver version 1.3.0.0. by Peter Verbeek.
1.) The issues solver removes this bug by deleting the windowState value of the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\EqualizerAPO\Configuration Editor' registry key.
2.) It's unknown why the registry keys of the Configuration Editor gets messed up. It seldom happens but the issues solver deletes all registry keys which solve this issue.
3.) After mistakenly unchecking the Instant mode checkbox changes you make in the Configuration Editor aren't applied. The solution is to check this checkbox again which the solver app can do for you.
4.) Sometimes your Windows startup folder is removed by some app or by Windows itself. Creating it again solves this issue.
5.) The link file VoicemeeterClient.lnk refers to the executable VoicemeeterClient.exe in c:\program files\equalizerapo. In principle you could start this executable yourself to connect to Voicemeeter but this has to be done every time after you started your computer. So the link file is made in your Windows startup folder.
6.) The issue solver can remove this update checker thus the annoying popup but you won't get any notification on updates. Usually this isn't a problem as the updates of Equalizer APO are quite rare and insignificant.
7.) Remnants of removed audio devices might linker in the Windows registry causing issues. Or the apps of Equalizer APO might not have access to the registry although this is only in rarely occasions. There isn't an easy fix other than repairing the Windows registry, for instance by Wise Registry Cleaner, CCleaner, etc. Or using the DISM.exe of Windows with which you can scan and repair things.
8.) This issue may arise at a new Windows update. Or initially when an anti-malware app prevents the Device Selector / Configurator from changing the Windows registry. The solution is to set the DisableProtectedAudioDG key value to 1. This value is part of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio key.
Instead of the Configuration Editor you might want to try the Peace equalizer interface:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension
This app is fully maintained contrary to the Configuration Editor.
