#2 Session timeout logon screen appears in odd places

Sometimes when timing out the log on screen will appear within a window. Have noticed this on time out with item edit and participants survey so far; with survey, logon appeared in both sides (survey, info). When I logged back in, It ended at http://sharp-frost-42.heroku.com/survey_respondents/reviews/84/states; it showed all but one type as copied; I do not remember checking off that many. At 30 minutes per cycle, it will take far too long to test

NOTE: this happens because an AJAX call was made after the session has timed out. The result is shown within the return area of the ajax call.
Solution: better error handling framework for the Ajax front end and change it so that session timeouts are reported in a consistent manner.
