Use CVS head instead. There's a new kernel in development right now, that does
not depend on j2ee and is designed to be used in conjunction with spring or
jboss aop. The development is finished. Demos and unit tests are running. Build
scripts have to be simplified. Planned release date is end of july.

Maybe you should start with the modeller first in order to get a feeling, how
things work. Try to model a simple process. Generate the sources and try to
understand those sources.

Then look at the demos. At the moment both, the embedded-demo and the j2ee-demo
don't rely on a j2ee container. However, the former is Swing based and the
latter is wingS (servlet) based.

We at http://www.wilken.de are actually using it to build a flexible
e-procurement solution in conjunction with the spring framework. However, the
project has just started.
