The project needs to support postgreSQL or some other
equivalent open source & free database. Doing so would
result in a quantum jump in implementations as the ROI
would increase tremendously.

In a presentation to my SME Company I was asked why
major open-source & free RDBMS was not supported in an
open source ERP/CRM project, before I was given the
edict to research further & come up with other solutions.

    Yes, we are holding off for Postgres support as well before
    we implement this software. Oracle is just too expensive and
    too resource-hungry for us to consider rolling out on it.

    Also, Oracle running on Linux is a pig to install and
    support. 10g is slightly better but it's still only
    guaranteed to run on a tiny handful of out of date RedHat
    releases.

    Sequoia supports both Postgres 7.4.x and MySQL 5.x+
