#158 Manufacturer should be Business Partner

With 2.4.3d you can set a Manufacturer, shouldn't this
be a Business Partner, so that you can get in contact
with him? For Support numbers etc.

If your manufacturer is your vendor, there is no need to have
the "second" link. The Manufacturer was asses as
Documentation only.

For example I buy Sun machines from distributor A or B, but
the manufacturer is still Sun, not distributor A or B. Support
and everything else is done by the manufacturer.

Therefore the manufacturer should be linked. For some
products I even must authorize the buy via the Manufacturer
before I buy it from distributor, there are many reasons why
the product should be linked to the manufacturer which is not
the vendor. Also a product could have more than one vendor...

Also that is not a solution...

A product can have one or more vendors which sell you the
product and a manufacturer who is responsible for the
product.

Also that is needed to be able to create sensefull searches
for example to have all printers from one manufacturer. If you
simply have a text field everyone could / would define i.e.
one time HP, next time Hewlett Packard, next time Hewlett
Packard / Compaq.
