This is pretty old software by now - I'm kind of surprised
that anyone is looking at it. In any case, the Open Source
Toolkit download available from the project home page has SR
bindings for any JSAPI-compliant recognition engine, and
contains pointers to other open source projects which have
examples of SR bindings.
As for corpora servers, I don't know whether any of the
consuming projects ever developed a Communicator-compliant
API for serving corpora.
