After I have installed the virtual null modem, in the device manager, there is a '!' in front of "CNCA0" & "CNCB0" - This device is not configured correctly. My plaform is Windows 2000 SP4.

Yes, I have reboot it and no change at all. And I have tried to disable "com0com - bus for serial port pair emulator" on the device manager and enable it again. The device manager shows "CNCA0" and "CNCB0" normal. But the hyperterm cannot see these ports. And I have tried to open the port "CNCA0", "\\.\CNCA0" but failed.

I have changed the trace.reg - 'TraceFile'="\\??\\e:\\temp\\com0com.log". After I have rebooted it, "com0com.log" hasn't been created. And I have tried change 'TraceFile'="\\\\.\\e:\\temp\\com0com.log" and pre-create the "com0com.log" file, there is nothing written into the log file.
On the other hand, I have tried it on my notebook -Windows2000 server. It can be installed and the ports are created. Once I use the hyperterm to open the port, the OS crashed (blue screen). Any idea about it?

Did you import trace.reg to Registry before reboot?

Try version 1.1.0.0. Have you got the crash?

Yes, I have imported the trace.reg and then reboot the machine. But no log file has been created.
Do "\\??\\e:\\temp\\com0com.log" syntax correct?
What is the meaning of the questionmask questionmask?
I will try the version 1.1.0.0 tonight and reply you again.
Thank

In the Event Log, I can find quite a lot "TraceOutput ZwCreateFile FAIL" and the Device Name are "\Device\CNCBUS0:", "Device\CNCA0:" and "Device\CNCB0:".
I can turn on the log file after change the e: to E:. The following is the trace: Thanks

Send me blue screen content (can be found in the Event Log).

What version of com0com?
Binary or source?
Get trace.reg from source (com0com-1.1.1.0.zip).
Fix drive letter in line
"TraceFile"="\\??\\F:\\com0com.log"
Import trace.reg to Registry.
Reboot.
Send me com0com.log by e-mail.
I use com0com version 1.1.1.0 binary.
