We welcome patches very much. There's even a little wiki page explaining how at: http://www.columbamail.org/confluence/display/CO/Contributing+Patches Generally, this is fairly easy as for example Eclipse IDE creates a patch automatically for you. But, patches for the 1.0 version are generally too old. They either address bugs which were already fixed, or the overall sourcecode differences are too big to easily apply the patch. I therefore highly recommend to somehow download the CVS version. Currently, this is not available as a file download. Additionally, in the future we could grant you CVS write access, so you can commit bugfixes for yourself. At least we got a daily Java Webstart version at: http://columbamail.org/nightlysnapshot/columba.jnlp You can check if your bug is already fixed, and if not send me a patch file to my email address. Try to make the patches as small and locally as possible. I've forwarded your message to our developer mailinglist, so everyone can support you. Just another question. Are you using Columba personally only, or is it used internally? Looking forward to see some patches! Best regards, -Frederik |
