RE: [coLinux-users] Launching MS applications from Colinux desktop

    I'm now using Telnet to communicate and psexec on the windows side.
With that, I am now able to get Windows applications to launch from my
Colinux/KDE desktop.  I'm working on the icon path that will allow all of
that to happen with the click of a button now.  I need to have it launch a
telnet session, log in with user name and password and then run the proper
command psexec -i notepad.exe (or whatever).  I have been able to keep the
MS application on top of the -rootless -keyhook colinux desktop, but it
disappears when I minimize, never to be seen again.  I don't want to alt-tab
between OS's and -keyhook took care of that.  I can ctl-alt-del and get my
minimized application back, but I'd rather figure a way to 1)disable
minimizing of the application, or 2) make it so that minimizing only makes
it really small.  Any ideas?

I was thinking about this earlier when I looked at the thread originally. I
think what they mean is that you set up an sshd daemon on your windows host
(cygwin run or otherwise), and then launch applications from your coLinux
via "ssh host 'notepad.exe'" or some such things. To do it without typing in
passwords, you're going to need to set up some ssh keys between the two
hosts. Also, when you run the "remote program", its going to run on top of
your X windows screen or behind it. They'll be no way to "intermingle the
two" unless you're running RootLess mode with your X server. Even then,
you're going to see issues.

What I've always wanted to see is the ability to export Windows programs
much like you do X programs. I.E. notepad.exe -display remhost:0.0 or some
such thing.
