It seems that cobdx = "\Device\HardDiskVolume." take their size from maybe previously defined cobdx = file. When I had cca 110Meg swap (file) and cca 300Meg /dev/hda8 (= \Device\HardDiskVolume7 ;-( ) I've similar errors, without swap (means 1Gig partition = file) seemd(!) cobdx (=/dev/hda8) mounted work fine.
