How's the network performance? I really wanna run a nfs/samba/linux network on colinux boxes, I've tried every windows nfs solution I could find, and none of them can save uid/gid without mapping it to windows users, which imho is a horrible solution. coLinux would allow me to run the network linux-linux. Unfortunatly the only windows computer I have right now is one running in vmware, and while I can set it up there and move it to production computers later I can't do any network performance tests. Has anyone done any network performance tests with the different network options? Which is the best solution, and what kind of speed can I be hoping for? (the computer I eventualy will put it on will be 1gbit, while it'd be REALLY nice to bridge into that, I'd be damn happy with 100mbit aswell). I can probably be ok with something a lot slower aslong as I know future versions will improve the speed though (as I'm sure it will), but the 200kb/sec I get in vmware wont work ;) |
