After migrating to gradle we can use 
gradle-git-plugin(https://github.com/ajoberstar/gradle-git) which 
apparently has the capabilities to easily upload github pages.

I will have a go at the gradle migration now, but don't expect a pull 
request before the end of August as I'm soon going for holidays.
