Ok, the release is complete.

The release files are uploaded, the site files were transferred, and I
deployed to the Sourceforege staging Maven repo (usually gets picked up and
replicated to the central repo within a day or so).

The javadoc is still partially broken -- it does not include any of the
javadoc comments. I thought I had a workaround, but it ended up not working,
and I did not want to delay the release.

I am busy for the rest of today. If you want to do a draft of the
announcement email, that would be fine. Otherwsie I'll work on it tonight or
tomorrow, including what you suggested below, and send you for review. We
can send out the actual announcement on Monday as you suggested.
