From roddie@myword.co.uk

Default values of 0000-00-00 00:00:00 for a datetime field
showing in the list as NULL.

CocoaMySQL v0.4, Mac PBG4, OS X (10.2.3)

I've checked the table in Terminal and it is OK. This seems
to be a bug in the way the value is displayed.

In the current version, dates are stored in Cocoa date objects. This
objects doesn't allow non existing dates like 0000-00-00.
This will be fixed in version 0.6.

In version 0.5 dates like 0000-00-00 work. There are still
problems with dates like 0000-01-01 which will be fixed in version
    0.6.
If anyone needs a fixed version before, please contact me by
    mail!

I hope to release v0.6 soon. It will include some bugfixes, user
contributions and probably support for MySQL 4.1.
