I think sphinx4 is in java and sphinx3 in C. These are just decoders.
SphinxTrain is used for training (common to both decoders) is in C (perhaps
some perl also). I personally don't have any experience in java, so I prefer
sphinx3 for working with (for time being).

hmm... i've downloaded shpinx3 (latest ). before i've used win32 build 'cause
modifications i making uses direct asm sse programming, which is very
convenient under ms visual studio ide but as well sooo boring & tiring under
gcc-asm as to invoke nasm for every lil piece of sse code. but it refuses to
build under win (possible due to license limitage of vs2010(r) i have). but
when on linux (centos5.4) it prints weird errors: libtool misinterprets gcc
cmdline inserting "X" between each cmdkine options thus generating errors like
"bad cmd: X-WAll" etc
why?

try to search "libtool" in the above search bar (select 'All Forums' instead
of 'Speech Recognition'). see if you can find any clue
