I'm wondering about Sphinx and other languages... I see on the Sphinx page it says it has the models for American English and French... Is the French model just included in the model/hmm/6k file, or is it somewhere else?

I'm also interested in German and Japanese, is there any work anywhere on these?

    Thanks,
    Matt

I'm looking for a French LM... I found one (see http://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/sphinx/models/hmm/\). I think it may replace the hmm/6k files of sphinx2-0.4.

However, I looked the french.dict file and I was surprised not to find all current words but strange words such as 'dracula'. :-) Is it possible to generate my own dictionary with French phonemes? How can I generate the .lm file with my  own corpus?

      Thanks
      Julie

      Hi,

the French language model works very good (I have mors than 90% of recognition). But the condition is that you have to chage the dictionary: indeed, I had to change it because I'm French and the phonemes were not good for French people. Perhaps they are for Americans ?!
So, you can download the French model and change the phonemes in the dictionary and test it!

      Good luck

      Julie
