But while building a dictionary is there any way to differentiate ত / t̪, থ /
t̪ʰ and ট / t. If I use ট / t for all the ত / t̪, থ / t̪ʰ and ট / t then I
shall loose a great amount of accuracy on recognition.
For your kind information I am trying to build a command and control app using
Pocket Sphinx for iPhone that may recognize Bengali command.
Thanks in adavce

You can use arbitrary phone names which can differentiate various IPA symbols
in your dictionary, for example
ত ta
থ tb
ট tc

The way nshmyrev suggested it works for Bangla. Actually one of my colleague
at BRAC University, Dhaka developed a system which works well. you can go in
that way...

Hi all,
I want to make Pocket Sphinx recognize command given in Bengali
language. I have read http://
cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/tutorial. From here I have understand that I can adapt existing accoustic
model to recognize Bengali.
