I am planning on making an android app that will use speech recognition in urdu. basically i want this system to recognize a set of words only.

Now i have a few questions.

can i tweak an English model to work with my language? if not, then can someone please tell me the steps involved in making a model for this language? like what should i do first etc.

I don't have a lot of knowledge about this topic so any help will be appreciated. Also, how much time is needed to for an amateur like me to create a model for urdu? a rough guess will be fine.
