Questions about logios pronounce tool

Hi,

I am looking at tools for constructing pronunciation rules for unknown words.
So far I have successfully used the methods in freetts:

My questions are:

1. Does the new lmtool use the logios pronounce tool to create pronunciations for missing words?

2. Is there source code available for the logios pronounce tool?

3. If not, is there a MacOS binary? There only appear to be Windows and Linux binaries: https://cmusphinx.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/cmusphinx/trunk/logios/Tools/MakeDict/bin/

4. Is there any difference in logic between the pronounce tool and the freetts methods, i.e. would they produce significant differences in results?

Thanks for the recommendation of phonetisaurus - it looks good! I have written
a blog post with details on using it to create Sphinx dictionaries:

which includes a wrapper script for post-processing the output into the right
format for Sphinx.
