After searching for days and days for the reason of my poor sphinx recognition results i finally fount the reason ( well, i think so).
Its that my microphone input doesn't have the same audioformat as the acoustic model i am using. i am doing an installation with voice recognition and i am trying to use the mexican/spanish files kindly provided for free ( http://speech.mty.itesm.mx/~jnolazco/proyectos.htm )
So back to my problem: my macbook pro only allows me to record with 44.1khz. I found the little apple program which should allow me to change the input sample rate (applications->utilities->Audio MIDI setup) but somehow java/sphinx doesnt care about these settings.
I really can't find the correct solution ( and time is running away)...
So anyone can tell me if my assumptions are correct and is there anyone out there who has solved these problems?
Thanks in advance...
Vince
