    Tan Tien Ping - 2005-02-25

I have just generate the triphone list using QUICK_COUNT. According to the documentation, there will be 5 'columns' produced. But some rows only have 4. For instance (the second row):

    Z(E,9)s 1
    Z(E,E) 1
    Z(E,E)b 1
    Z(E,E)e 1

The second line there is somethign missing. And also according to the manual, it is suppose to be something like:

    Z(E,E)1 1

But this is also missing. Is this means Z(E,E) is actually equal to Z(E,E)1? and we have to change it to:

    Z E E i

Please advice. Thank you very much.

The SphinxTrain documentation is almost, but not 100% accurate.

SphinxTrain models four types of triphones, (1) occurring in single-phone words, (2) occurring at the beginning of the word, (3) word-internal, and (4) at the end of the word, and the documentation says these are indicated by suffixes of "s", "b", "i", and "e", respectively. This is not quite correct. In fact, the word-internal trphone is indicated by NO suffix.

Therefore you are correct that "Z(E,E)" indicates a word-internal triphone. However, do not change anything! The "Z(E,E)", etc. triphone names are correct, It is only the documentation that is incorrect.

      cheers,
      jerry
