I am trying to improve the accuracy of pocketsphinx ( ros package) using a dictionary.. I gave a list of words like
apple
ball
bottle
yes

Many a time I noticed that it gives me a combination of these words as the output

apple ball bottle ball yes

Is there a way to solve this problem? Any flag that says output should contain only one of these words and not a combination.

  first of all, those are not very reliable words. they are too short. you should use at least 3 syllables words. If your keywords are spotted too often you need to tune threshold: http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/faq#qhow_to_implement_hot_word_listening
