If you would ask why use sphinx 2.02, 2.01a or 2.01, it is because sphinx 2.03 doesn't work with 8khz in ANY form -- at all, nada.

So, since I am able to get the mfc files to work with previous versions of sphinx, I have narrowed the problem to the adcin being 8khz data and sphinx does not recognize this properly.

If I first convert this 8khz data to the feat file and feed it in as "cep" data, it works (which it will NOT in sphinx2.03).  I have turned around every parameter that I can think of.  No luck.  Is there a description of the .mfc file somewhere?  Clearly, there is no documentation available on the internal workings of sphinx, or is there?

Really stuck and not thrilled with all the reverse engineering necessary to make sphinx work -- before I even get to start on my work..

I've taken your advice and dumped 2.03 when I found that, indeed, as you say, the feature files work with 2.02.  I have been trying to get "my" code to work with sphinx203 since April -- didn't know that the code itself doesn't work.  Let me know if you make any progress! -- I'll do the same.

It's nice to see someone working on this!!

There was a magic number error in raw2cep in 0.3 that is fixed under 0.4.  However, you will have to regenerate the .cep files.

Specific detail on 8kHz models should follow shortly.

So whats the status currently? Does 0.4 work with 8 KHz or do you have to regenerate some cep files?
