    Hi, I've installed sphinxbase snapshot and pocketsphinx 0.7, when I run
    pocketshinx_continuous I get this:

    Your ALSA device named 'default' doesn't have microphone. It's caused by ALSA
    misconfiguration.

    You can dump full ALSA configuration with the command

    alsa-info --stdout
    

    If you have some other recording device, you can specify it using -adcdev
    option for pocketsphinx_continuous.

    pocketsphinx+sphinxbase or aftre?
    sorry but I need alot of help, "recognition" is my project to succeed this
    year...

    the answer of the question yourself.

    This is what I get when I try it:

    I think something is missing, bye the way I just installed ubuntu 11.10 and
    everything works great except when I started to install sphinxbase base and
    pocketsphinx,

    I'm from morocco, my prof wants me to develop an application to recognize
    "amazigh" (it's a language that has its own alphabet...), anyway I've
    installed wavesurfer to record voices of 50 person (men and women, ages from
    10 to18, 18 to 30 and >30)to creat a data base, but I don't know what to do
    next, should I use pocketsphinx+sphinxbase or sphinx4?
    please give me the right steps to do

    I thing pocketsphinx_continuous is working now even it gives me the error "mic
    element" but after that it shows ready... listenning...

    This command has double dashes. Be watchful.

    they say the output must be something like this:

    The command must have double dashes. You command has single dash. You need
    to change single dash to double dashes.

    I installed pocketSphinx_continuous on a robot and it worked, but now I'm
    trying to install it on my laptop but it gives me this error :

    Warning: Could not find Mic element
    FATAL_ERROR: "continuous.c", line 250: Failed to calibrate voice activity
    detection

    I don't know what's wrong with it!
    I followed the instruction above to solve this problem but still I couldn't
    solve it . any idea?

    Failed to calibrate voice activity detection

    The problem is that can not find a microphone. Your default device doesn't
    support audio recording.

    You can configure a proper input with -adcdev option. The device name should
    be the proper name for your sound input device.

    sometimes and sometimes it doesn't! by working I mean it shows
    ready ...
    listening ...
