Adapting the default acoustic model

Hello!
Cuold someone explain for me what does this sentence exactly mean?
"Crosslanguage adaptation also make sense, you can for example adapt an English model to sounds of another language by creating a phoneset map and creating another language dictionary with an English phoneset."

And another question is that could another language be persian?

Hi.
It means as it sounds. In your case you can build Persian dictionary with English sounds.
For example you can add following persian words in your default dictionary which is English:
درود D OW R UW D
چطوری CH EH T OW R IY
ماکارونی M AA K AA R OW N IY
Note that english does not have word (خ) and (ق or غ) so they can not be recognized .
