do you mean records of wav?
simply type "arecord -t wav | aplay" in console (without quotes)
This will record wav stream over mic into stdin and pipe it to aplay - you should hear your
sound over speaker.
To record directly into files use arecord -t way > filename.wav
for cmusphinx, you need mono files, so it may be needed to use "sox" to convert
stereo to mono.
