On your website, you are stating that one of the advantages of the CMUCLMTK is a "BSD-like license which allows commercial distribution". However, in the COPYING file in the source tar.gz I found that at least part of the software is released under:
"Copyright (C) 1994, Carnegie Mellon University and Ronald Rosenfeld.
All rights reserved.
This software is made available for research purposes only[...]"
I found these terms also in the libs/mips_swap.h and libs/sih.h files.
Could you please clarify which of the licenses applies here and if commercial use of these tools is allowed?
Best regards,
Benedikt

Dear CMU sphinx team,
I would like to know if there are any restrictions regarding the commercial use of the CMCLMTK binaries, available at:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/cmusphinx/files/cmuclmtk/0.7/

Use https://github.com/mitlm/mitlm
Thank you for the quick response.
Does that mean that there are infact issues with the commercial usage of the cmuclmtk?
Could you please explain why you recommend mitlm over cmuclmtk?
No
It is more modern and more advanced toolkit. It also has a good license.
